Best Of The Year: A Movie

I’m not a very big movie person unless it’s Marvel comics or anything that has Gerard Butler, Denzel Washington or Liam Neeson. If you’re tired of watching Liam Neeson get revenge for his kids or family then we can’t be friends. But still movies lack that particular it factor for me.

I don’t think a few hours is enough for you start, simmer and finish cooking a good story. That could be just me but I feel movies just don’t have enough foreplay or build up. They sort of mostly dive right in and I feel a lot of good stories are wasted on movies instead of a series. This is not even up for debate.

Well my best movie this year has to be Den Of Thieves. It’s the first movie I’ve watched where 50 cent’s performance wasn’t overrated and it has Gerard Butler of course. In 300 and Law Abiding Citizen, Gerald Butler could’ve delivered two of the best movies in the past century. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it and if you haven’t watched those movies you definitely need to.

At first it seemed like the usual bank robbers who later on slip up and get caught plot. But damn was I wrong about it. There was a delicate balancing between action and story telling which they executed to perfection. And the twist in the end, that I never saw coming. Well worth the watch.

As there’s still a month to go in the year I have a few films I’m waiting to check out. I’ve recently gotten addicted to Romcoms (Romantic comedies) and it’s an addiction I’m strongly trying to fight. Everything I say is beginning to sound cheesy and cliché (Not that I’m not a big cheese lover). Anyways I’m looking forward to watching Catching Feelings, I’m indulging more in African movies lately.

Also The Commuter is on my to watch list because Liam Neeson.

And for all those looking for a classic to watch you can never go wrong with Scarface. “Say hello to my little friend.” Unforgettable moment!
