Forget or Remember

If our memories had selection.
If we could only remember.
The present events.
Life wouldn’t have tragedy.
Happiness would actually be a choice.
Just choosing to forget
All that doesn’t make us smile.
So no one is truly perfect.
If you put anyone’s past
Under a microscope
Even the tiniest of our skeletons
Would be revealed.
But we’re only human.
We live.
We feel.
We love.
We cry.
Yet only God truly knows.
What lies in our hearts.
