Continuous Constant

Umbrellas and waterproof clothes

Bottoms folded up, as blocked drains cause flash floods.

The rains give the ground a hiding until the skies finally become stagnant.

Temperatures fall as the heat is sucked away from the earth.

Then come through the snivels.

Cups full of hot liquids.

Jackets heavy enough to give you a workout.

Boots all around like everyone’s a member of the army.

Clouds overpowering the sky, turning the blue to a grey.

Slowing moving on as the wind carries them away.

Clothes shed off,

No more sleeves and knees are out in the open.

Pleasant sunshine for a moment

Walks in the park,

A rocking chair and shades as you sit in it’s glow.

Then a heat wave strikes

Smiles turning into sullen sweats even with little being worn.

Mineral water sales rise

The shower sees more visitors.

And so on and so on…

I think by now you get the picture.

The cycle carries on, void of human intervention.

Day after day and year after year.

It really brings to meaning the fact that there’s a time for everything.

Yet time in itself is a continuous constant immune from all cycles.

It doesn’t wait for anyone or anything.
